CMC's Five Major Infra Projects Worth Rs 1,697 Crore Set to Transform Mobility in Western Hyderabad

Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), newly formed by the Telangana Government and having recently completed 100 days, is undertaking major infrastructure projects worth nearly Rs 1,697 crore under Commissioner G. Srijana to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion across western Hyderabad's fast-growing residential, commercial and IT corridors.
The infrastructure push comes shortly after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Bachupally flyover, a 1.3-km four-lane structure completed at a cost of Rs 65.53 crore and now open to the public. The flyover is expected to ease congestion at Bachupally X Roads, improve traffic flow between Miyapur X Road and Gandi Maisamma, and reduce travel time for thousands of daily commuters in Hyderabad's rapidly growing north-western suburbs.
Among the flagship projects is the Rs 459-crore Grade Separator at IIIT Junction, one of the busiest intersections in the city's IT corridor. The project comprises a 520-metre bi-directional underpass, two double-decker flyovers measuring 1.20 km and 948 metres respectively, and a 720-metre bi-directional flyover, with a total structure length of 3.388 km. The project is expected to benefit more than 2 lakh vehicles daily by cutting travel time by around 20 minutes and improving connectivity between Gachibowli, BHEL, ISB, DLF, the Financial District and the Outer Ring Road.
At Khajaguda Junction, CMC will take up Rs 220 crore worth of grade separators and an underpass spanning 1.53 km. The project includes a 1.01-km flyover and a 520-metre underpass aimed at easing traffic movement between Khajaguda, Shaikpet, Nanakramguda and Gachibowli. With peak-hour traffic of nearly 10,702 PCU per hour, the project is expected to save commuters about 16 minutes during rush hours.
The corporation has also cleared plans for Rs 180 crore worth of grade separators at Kukatpally Y Junction and IDL Lake Junction along NH-65. The project includes flyovers of 410 metres and 500 metres, with a combined length of 910 metres. Handling peak-hour traffic volumes of 14,803 PCU/hr and 16,211 PCU/hr respectively, the project is expected to reduce travel time by around 12 minutes.
To strengthen connectivity in the rapidly developing Nallagandla-Lingampally corridor, CMC will undertake a Rs 308-crore Road Over Bridge (ROB) near Lingampally Railway Station. The project includes two 4-lane ROB stretches measuring 880 metres and 1.14 km, a 2-km road widening between Gulmohar Junction and BHEL Junction, and a 63.4-metre railway span. Besides easing congestion, the ROB is expected to eliminate disruptions caused by flooding of the existing Lingampally Road Under Bridge during monsoons.
Another major intervention is the Rs 530-crore Grade Separator at Allwyn X Roads and Miyapur Junction. The project features a 1.79-km bi-directional bridge/flyover and two uni-directional vehicular underpasses measuring 633 metres and 825 metres, taking the total structure length to 3.248 km. The corridor currently handles peak-hour traffic volumes of 14,528 PCU/hr at Allwyn Junction and 13,459 PCU/hr at Miyapur Junction, and is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Miyapur, Kukatpally, Hafeezpet, Kondapur, Hi-tech City and Gachibowli.
Together, these projects reflect CMC's strategy of building future-ready transport infrastructure to support Cyberabad's expanding residential and commercial footprint while improving commuter efficiency, road safety and sustainable urban mobility.
