Miyapur, Suraram RWAs Seek CMC Action on Roads, Drainage and Water Issues
The civic visits brought RWAs and residents together with CMC officials to flag neighbourhood infrastructure gaps and seek timely action on roads, drainage, water supply, sanitation and public safety.
From broken roads and drainage gaps to water supply and traffic concerns, residents in Miyapur and Suraram are seeking quicker solutions from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) to long-pending civic issues in their neighbourhoods.
CMC Commissioner G. Srijana visited Miyapur and Suraram wards under the One Ward Every Day programme, where RWAs and residents raised a range of civic concerns and sought time-bound action from the corporation.
In Miyapur Ward, RWAs and residents flagged the need for road repairs and CC roads, drainage and stormwater works, nala desilting, measures to address waterlogging, streetlights, road widening and traffic safety. They also sought action on encroachments, mosquito control, park development, groundwater recharge, sanitation and other public infrastructure.
The Commissioner directed the concerned departments to examine the grievances on priority and take up necessary works within prescribed timelines. Officials were also asked to coordinate across departments and expedite development works.
In Suraram Ward, RWAs and residents raised concerns over roads, internal infrastructure, stormwater drains, Underground Drainage (UGD) and drinking water supply. They also sought streetlights and high-mast lights at identified locations, park development, protection of open spaces and removal of encroachments.
Traffic management, speed breakers, public safety measures and improved sanitation were among the other concerns raised. Residents also sought community facilities, graveyard development and better maintenance of public amenities.
The Commissioner directed officials to inspect the identified issues, prepare estimates wherever required and take up works in a phased manner. Departments were asked to coordinate and monitor the progress of the works to ensure timely implementation.
Commissioner G. Srijana said the “One Ward Every Day” programme aims to bring civic officials closer to residents and enable a first-hand assessment of ward-level issues. She said grievances raised during the visits would be monitored and followed up by the concerned departments.
