Shahid Kapoor’s 10,000 Sq Ft Luxury Duplex in Mumbai

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput’s luxurious Mumbai residence has once again attracted attention after the couple opened the doors of their home for a special home tour by Architectural Digest India.

Spread across nearly 10,000 sq. ft., the four-bedroom duplex in Worli combines contemporary design, traditional elements, art and family-centric spaces. One of its defining features is the abundance of natural light, with large glass windows and open spaces designed to allow sunlight into different parts of the home.

A striking black geometric staircase forms the centrepiece of the residence, surrounded by spacious living, dining and family areas.

The interiors reflect the distinct preferences of both Shahid and Mira. While Mira prefers bright, naturally lit spaces, Shahid favours softer and more intimate lighting. The design brings both preferences together through a customised lighting scheme.

The home also showcases décor pieces collected during international travels, including objects from Spain, Italy, England and Copenhagen. A library corner featuring books collected by Mira’s father adds a personal touch.

Mira’s passion for art is evident throughout the home. Sculptures, paintings by young artists and artworks by Subodh Kerkar feature prominently, while a sculpture by renowned artist Radhakrishnan welcomes visitors at the entrance.

The upper floor includes a guest room, glam room, Shahid’s office, home theatre, DJ console, open-air gym and pantry. Dedicated spaces have also been created for their children, Misha and Zain.

The interiors follow a calming palette of white, grey and wood, complemented by fresh flowers, indoor plants, natural materials and sculptural lighting. Designed by renowned interior designer Ankur Khosla, the residence blends luxury with warmth, functionality and family living.

Design experts view the home as an example of how Bollywood residences are increasingly becoming expressions of personal identity, combining art, nature, modern amenities and family life rather than simply showcasing luxury.
