Telangana to unveil blueprint for 30,000-acre global city at investment summit

Property Pulse

The Telangana Government is expected to unveil the master plan for Bharat Future City in December, marking a major milestone in one of the state's most ambitious urban development projects. According to official sources, chief minister A. Revanth Reddy is likely to launch the blueprint during the Telangana Global Investment Summit, scheduled for December 9 and 10.

The summit, proposed to be held near the Young India Skills University, is expected to bring together domestic and international investors, Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders. The launch of the master plan is likely to position Future City as Telangana's flagship destination for global investments and next-generation urban development.

Spread across nearly 30,000 acres, Bharat Future City is being planned as an integrated economic and technology hub rather than a conventional residential township. The government has engaged Singapore-based urban planning firm Surbana Jurong to prepare the master plan, with a focus on sustainable development, smart infrastructure, environmental conservation and future-ready urban design.

The proposed city will feature dedicated zones for artificial intelligence, global capability centres (GCCs), data centres, life sciences, biotechnology, green pharma, healthcare, education, research, entertainment and modern residential neighbourhoods. Officials say the objective is to create an ecosystem that attracts investment while supporting innovation, employment and high-quality urban living.

Infrastructure planning is progressing alongside the master plan. Road networks, expressways, multimodal transport systems and public transport connectivity are being designed, with special emphasis on links to Nagarjunasagar Road and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The recently established Future City Development Authority (FCDA) will oversee investor facilitation, land allocation, project approvals and implementation.

Telangana has attracted more than 200 Global Capability Centres over the past two-and-a-half years, and the government now plans to establish a dedicated GCC Hub within Future City to strengthen its position as a leading investment destination. The upcoming investment summit is also expected to witness announcements of fresh investment proposals and strategic partnerships.

The unveiling of the master plan will provide greater clarity on the project's development roadmap and strengthen investor confidence in South Hyderabad's emerging growth corridor.
