Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Completes First 100 Days with Focus on Infrastructure, Sanitation and Civic Reforms

The newly formed Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has completed its first 100 days with a major focus on civic infrastructure, sanitation, urban governance and citizen-centric administration across the rapidly expanding Cyberabad region.

Established by the Telangana Government on February 11, 2026, the Corporation, under the leadership of Commissioner  G. Srujana, said the initial phase focused on assessing ground-level urban challenges and strengthening core civic systems in areas including Kukatpally, Miyapur, Narsingi, Patancheru, Aminpur and Serilingampally.

One of the key initiatives launched during the period was the “One Ward Everyday” programme, under which the Commissioner personally visited one ward every morning to inspect civic infrastructure, review local issues and interact directly with residents. Officials said the initiative helped improve field-level monitoring, accountability and faster grievance resolution.

CMC strengthened citizen grievance systems through Prajavani, the MyCURE mobile app, WhatsApp complaint services, social media monitoring and direct field inspections. Weekly review meetings with department heads were also conducted to monitor progress across civic divisions.

Under the State Government’s “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” 99-day action plan, the Corporation intensified sanitation drives, lake cleaning, desilting works, mosquito control activities, encroachment removal, plantation programmes and road repairs across all circles.

In the sanitation sector, the Corporation strengthened door-to-door garbage collection systems and initiated implementation of the new Solid Waste Management Guidelines-2026. CCTV cameras with automated alert systems were installed at chronic garbage dumping locations to curb illegal waste disposal.

A major highlight during the period was the “Cyberabad Clean Sweep Drive” conducted along a 22-km stretch from Patancheru to Manikonda. The Commissioner noted that the drive involved 128 officers, 716 sanitation workers and 224 machines and vehicles, resulting in the removal of around 953 metric tonnes of waste.

The Engineering Department undertook pothole repairs, stormwater drain works, pedestrian infrastructure improvements and emergency maintenance activities, while the Town Planning wing carried out large-scale encroachment removal drives in several major urban zones.

CMC also reported installation of nearly 1.85 lakh LED streetlights, development of parks and greenery works, restoration activities in 28 lakes and establishment of EV charging stations in coordination with TGREDCO.

“Our long-term vision is to transform Cyberabad into a cleaner, greener and technology-driven urban region through stronger infrastructure, environmental sustainability and improved public service delivery,” said Commissioner G. Srijana.
