With senior citizens looking for more independent living options beyond traditional family homes, a dedicated senior living community is coming up along Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road. Vera Vita Living LLP has launched Amaya as its first project, with the company planning to invest around Rs 600 crore over the next five years across key Indian cities.
The project is targeted for completion in 2029, while bookings opened three weeks ago.
Amaya is being developed near Kandlakoya reserve forest as part of a 13-acre master plan. The first phase will cover around three acres and comprise 256 residences, with 1, 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5 BHK homes ranging from approximately 950 sq. ft. to 2,400 sq. ft.
The project is being planned as a professionally managed community for seniors, combining private homes with shared spaces, wellness facilities, dining and support services. Planned facilities include a clubhouse, dining spaces, fitness and wellness areas, landscaped gardens, walking trails and recreation zones.
The project will offer preventive healthcare, physiotherapy, emergency response, housekeeping, maintenance and concierge services, along with day-to-day support for residents. It will also feature a professional residential doctor as part of its on-site healthcare offering, making it a first-of-its-kind project initiative.
According to Vera Vita Living Co-founder Arudradev Rao, the focus is on allowing residents to remain independent while having support available when required. “Premium living is not only about the residence or the amenities. It is about giving people independence, dignity, choice, companionship and peace of mind,” he said.
The company has confirmed around 1.5 million sq. ft. of development potential in Hyderabad and is evaluating projects in Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coonoor and Pune. It was founded by Arudradev Rao, Dhruv Badruka and Tanay Saboo.
The project is designed for active, independent seniors, with a focus on wellness, social interaction, recreation and professionally managed services rather than institutional care.
Hyderabad has been chosen for the first project due to its healthcare infrastructure, connectivity, climate and availability of larger land parcels suited to lower-density residential communities. The city’s NRI population and globally connected families are also expected to support demand from those seeking managed living and support for ageing parents.
With Amaya, Vera Vita Living is entering a senior housing market shaped by changing family structures, longer life expectancy and growing demand for professionally managed communities.
