CMC Steps Up Action on Unauthorised Buildings Below 75 Sq Yards, Above 7 Metres
The civic body has ordered stricter action against unauthorised constructions, including buildings exceeding 7 metres on plots below 75 sq yards and those built without permission.
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has stepped up enforcement against unauthorized under-construction buildings, directing Town Planning and enforcement teams to identify and demolish structures that fall under specified violations.
The civic body has identified two categories for enforcement. These include buildings on plots below 75 square yards where construction exceeds 7 metres in height, and buildings on plots above 75 square yards constructed without building permission, irrespective of their height.
Commissioner G. Srijana has directed officials to take up the demolition of such under-construction buildings through enforcement drives. Violations will be identified based on citizen complaints as well as field inspections. This allows action to be initiated not only when a complaint is received, but also when unauthorised construction is detected during routine inspections.
She noted that the number of demolitions carried out under these categories will be monitored daily from Monday to track enforcement and ensure accountability. Town Planning and enforcement officials have also been directed to maintain regular field-level monitoring, identify unauthorised constructions at the earliest and take necessary action.
The directions are aimed at strengthening enforcement against buildings being constructed without the required permissions or in violation of prescribed building norms.
