Property Pulse

The Telangana Government is advancing plans for the Ratan Tata Greenfield Radial Road, a key infrastructure project proposed to improve connectivity to the upcoming Bharat Future City. Planned as an access-controlled expressway, the corridor will connect the Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) while providing direct access to Future City and several emerging development zones.

According to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), the proposed corridor will be approximately 41.5 km long and 300 feet wide, making it one of the most significant road infrastructure projects planned for Hyderabad's southern growth corridor.

From ORR to RRR

The proposed Greenfield Radial Road will begin at ORR Exit-13 (Tata Interchange) near Raviryal-Tukkuguda and pass through Meerkhanpet, the proposed Future City, and the planned Skill University before connecting with the proposed Regional Ring Road near Akuthotapally, close to Amangal.

Officials expect the corridor to serve as the primary gateway to Future City while strengthening regional connectivity.

Major interchanges planned

As an access-controlled expressway, vehicles will enter and exit only through designated interchanges to facilitate faster and safer travel.

While the final interchange plan will be confirmed after approval of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), preliminary proposals indicate that major interchanges are planned at:

  • ORR Exit-13 (Tata Interchange)
  • Meerkhanpet-Future City Core Zone
  • Kandukur-Yacharam Corridor
  • Amangal-Akuthotapally

Supporting Future City

The corridor is proposed to improve connectivity between Future City and major employment centres, including Gachibowli, Financial District, HITEC City and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

It will also provide access to several proposed development clusters within Future City, including the AI City, Life Sciences Hub, Education Clusters and Skill University, supporting the government's long-term urban development plans.

Regional connectivity

Once the proposed Regional Ring Road becomes operational, the corridor is expected to provide faster access to districts such as Nalgonda, Sangareddy, Medak and Vikarabad. Officials are also exploring the possibility of integrating the corridor with future Metro Rail or other mass transit systems to strengthen regional mobility.

Travel time to reduce

Officials expect the Greenfield Radial Road to provide a faster connection between the ORR and Future City, reducing dependence on the existing Srisailam Highway and Nagarjunasagar Road, where traffic volumes have been increasing.

The corridor is also expected to enable heavy commercial vehicles to bypass Hyderabad city and connect directly with the proposed RRR, easing congestion on urban roads.

Final DPR awaited

HMDA and the Future City Development Authority are yet to release the final Detailed Project Report (DPR) and alignment maps.

Officials have stated that the exact locations of interchanges, entry and exit points, service roads and village-wise alignment details will be finalised after the DPR is approved.
