CMC Commissioner Pushes Town Planning Wing for Faster Clearances, Stronger Field Action
Cyberabad Municipal Corporation reviewed Town Planning operations to speed up approvals and strengthen enforcement across all zones.
The Commissioner of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), G. Srijana, held a detailed review of Town Planning operations, focusing on speeding up approvals, strengthening enforcement, and improving field-level execution across all zones.
The review meeting brought together the Chief City Planner, City Planners from all three zones, and senior officials to assess application disposal, pending cases, and enforcement progress.
The Commissioner reviewed the status of building permissions, Occupancy Certificates, Transferable Development Rights (TDR), and Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications. Pending court matters, including writ petitions and contempt cases, were also examined, with instructions to ensure timely filing of responses and follow-ups.
Encroachment removal in road margins and public spaces was reviewed along with grievance redressal progress. The meeting also covered land acquisition for road widening works, particularly stretches facing procedural or execution delays.
Officials also updated the Commissioner on the identification and monitoring of old and unsafe buildings, along with enforcement actions taken by field teams.
The Commissioner directed officials to dispose of pending applications within prescribed timelines and strengthen coordination between the Town Planning, Engineering, and Legal departments to speed up decision-making.
Special emphasis was placed on improving court case management, including documentation and compliance tracking. Field teams were instructed to intensify encroachment drives and ensure consistent enforcement on the ground.
Regular inspections, stronger accountability, and faster grievance resolution were highlighted as key operational priorities.
Stressing the need for visible outcomes, the Commissioner said timely approvals, consistent enforcement, and active field monitoring are essential to improve urban service delivery and infrastructure development. Officials were asked to ensure decisions translate into measurable progress on the ground.
