Construction of Hyderabad's first double-decker flyovers is gathering pace at the busy IIIT Junction in Gachibowli, with nearly half of the supporting pillars already completed. The project, being executed under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) initiative, is designed to decongest one of the city's busiest IT corridor intersections.The ₹459-crore project will transform the existing four-road junction into a fully signal-free interchange through a network of three flyovers and one underpass. Officials have set May 2027 as the target for completing the Triple IT Junction works.

The proposed infrastructure includes a 720-metre four-lane flyover linking ISB Road and DLF, a 948-metre three-lane flyover from DLF towards Lingampally, a 1.2-km three-lane flyover connecting ISB Road and Gachibowli, and a 520-metre six-lane underpass between Gachibowli and Lingampally. The upgraded junction is expected to improve traffic flow between Gachibowli, Lingampally, Kondapur, Wipro Circle and the surrounding IT and commercial districts, reducing delays during peak commuting hours.

In addition, work is also progressing on the ₹220-crore Khajaguda Junction improvement project, which includes a 1.08-km three-lane flyover connecting Nanakramguda and Shaikpet, along with a 540-metre underpass for traffic travelling from Shaikpet towards Gachibowli. The project is scheduled for completion by April 2027.
The two projects form part of strategy to strengthen transport infrastructure in the western growth corridor, where rapid expansion of IT campuses and commercial developments has significantly increased traffic volumes over the past decade. Once operational, the multi-level road network is expected to improve connectivity across Gachibowli, the Financial District and adjoining employment hubs.
