Sobha Realty’s ₹90,000-Crore Abu Dhabi Bet! Indian Buyers Contribute 20% of Sales

UAE-based luxury developer Sobha Realty is strengthening its presence in Abu Dhabi with its AED 40 billion Sobha City masterplan, while Indian buyers continue to play a significant role, accounting for 20% of the company’s total sales.

The developer highlighted its expansion plans at an IIFA press conference in Mumbai, marking its fourth consecutive year as Title Sponsor of IIFA Weekend and Co-Presenting Sponsor of the IIFA Awards 2027.

The event is scheduled for January 22–23, 2027, at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Spread across approximately 38 million sq. ft. in Al Bahiya, near Yas Island and Zayed International Airport, Sobha City is the company’s first large-scale residential community in Abu Dhabi. Nearly 60% of its masterplan is dedicated to open and green spaces, alongside residences, waterfront experiences and lifestyle amenities.

Sobha Realty is also expanding internationally, including through regional offices and strategic land acquisitions in the United States and Australia. Its 2026 Dubai handovers carry an estimated combined sales value of AED 21.6 billion. According to Managing Director Francis Alfred, the company has 79 million sq. ft. and more than 37,000 homes under construction across three UAE emirates. It also plans to hand over more than 6,000 homes in Dubai this year.

Ashish Parakh, Group Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, said Indian customers remain important to the company’s growth, with their contribution reflecting continued confidence in its developments. Sobha Realty’s IIFA partnership began in Abu Dhabi in 2023. The developer also has global associations with Arsenal Football Club and the International Cricket Council, supporting its international brand visibility as it pursues expansion across the UAE and overseas markets.
