Telangana HC Orders Full Protection for Victims in Vatti Nagulapalli Land Dispute Involving Minister’s Son
In a major intervention, the Telangana High Court has granted full security protection to the victims in the Vatti Nagulapalli land dispute, in which Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s son, Harsha, has been accused of attempting to forcibly seize private land. Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya issued the latest orders on Friday.
According to petitioners, the incident occurred last Saturday around midnight in Vatti Nagulapalli under Rajendranagar mandal. The Minister’s son, accompanied by nearly 70 bouncers, allegedly attempted to take control of approximately three acres of private land and demolished the boundary wall surrounding the property. The victims lodged a complaint with local police alleging an attempt to murder.
Following the complaint, the petitioners approached the High Court seeking protection. Taking note of the seriousness of the allegations and the photographic evidence submitted, the Court directed the Gachibowli Circle Inspector to ensure complete protection to the petitioners.
The High Court also set aside the docket order previously issued by the lower court and instructed the trial court to re-examine the case based on all available evidence.
Advocate Apoorva Reddy, appearing for the petitioners, argued that the respondents had violated existing court orders, prompting the need for intervention. Justice Bhattacharya observed that the judiciary would not tolerate violations of court orders, regardless of an individual’s influence or stature.
The ruling is seen as a strong message reinforcing the principle that law applies equally to all, and that court directives must be respected without exception.
