Rajapushpa opens Work Site School in Narsingi Construction Workers Children

In a move aimed at addressing the educational challenges faced by children of migrant labourers, a Work Site School was inaugurated at the Rajapushpa Labour Camp in Narsingi, creating a dedicated learning space within a construction zone for children who often struggle with disrupted schooling.

The facility was inaugurated by Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner G. Srijana along with Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on improving access to education for children of construction workers.

Set up within the labour camp premises, the school is designed to offer a safe and accessible environment where children can continue their studies without being affected by the frequent relocations that often accompany construction work. For many migrant families, constant movement between project sites results in children dropping out of school or missing years of foundational learning.

Officials said the initiative was developed through a collaborative effort between the Education Department, Municipal Administration and Rajapushpa to ensure children from vulnerable and highly mobile communities at worksites are not excluded from formal education, while promoting equitable learning opportunities irrespective of socio-economic background or residential instability.

The school will provide basic education, structured classroom learning and a stable routine for children residing in the labour camp. Beyond academics, such initiatives are also seen as critical interventions in improving child welfare, reducing risks of child labour and helping integrate migrant communities into urban development ecosystems.

As large-scale residential and commercial construction continues to expand across western Hyderabad, particularly in growth corridors such as Narsingi, Kokapet and Financial District, the need for social infrastructure within labour communities has increasingly come into focus.

The Work Site School initiative reflects a broader push towards inclusive urban growth, where infrastructure development is paired with social responsibility measures aimed at supporting the workforce that powers the city’s real estate expansion.
