Revenue Expected to Reach $105 Billion by 2030

India is rapidly emerging as the preferred global destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with the sector’s revenues projected to touch $105 billion by 2030. According to estimates, GCC revenues, which stood at $40.4 billion in FY2019, grew to $64.6 billion by FY2024, reflecting strong and sustained momentum.

Major cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR have become key hubs for GCC expansion, firmly positioning India as a global centre for enterprise operations, technology, and innovation. Currently, nearly 2,400 GCCs, employing over 2.8 million professionals, operate across the country, supporting this rapid growth trajectory.

The rise of GCCs is already having a visible impact on India’s office real estate market. GCCs have emerged as the single largest occupier segment in the commercial office space category. They are driving large-scale leasing transactions, campus expansions, and long-term workspace investments across major metros, particularly through large-block leasing.

The central government, in a recent official note, highlighted that strong policy tailwinds are powering this transformation. Initiatives such as Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0 – Genesis), innovation-led incentive programs, FutureSkills PRIME digital skilling initiatives, and simplified approvals under state and central ease-of-doing-business reforms are enabling faster entry and expansion of global enterprises in India.

Additionally, liberalised Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) norms have significantly accelerated the establishment and scaling up of GCCs. The government noted that India already hosts more than 1,700 GCCs, supported by a robust talent ecosystem that aligns well with global technology and business requirements. With its skilled workforce, cost competitiveness, improving infrastructure, and policy support, India is well on track to strengthen its position as the world’s most preferred GCC destination by the end of the decade.
