TCS’ HyperVault to Develop 264-Acre, 1GW AI Data Centre Campus in Hyderabad

Hyderabad is set to add a major AI infrastructure project with HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), securing 264 acres to develop an AI data centre campus with capacity of up to 1GW. The project is expected to involve investments of up to Rs 70,000 crore by HyperVault and its partners.

The campus will be developed in phases based on customer demand and technology requirements, with infrastructure designed for high-density GPU deployments supporting AI training, inference and advanced computing workloads.

At full build-out, the project is expected to be among India’s largest and most advanced AI infrastructure campuses. The development will incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles, while supporting activity across power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering and operations.

The project is also expected to generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region and strengthen Telangana’s position as a hub for AI and advanced digital infrastructure.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy described the project as “historic” for the state and the country, saying Hyderabad is at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a focus on infrastructure.

“This establishes that Hyderabad is now at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a strong focus on infrastructure. This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence. Access to AI models and compute is fast-becoming public infrastructure and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage,” he said.

Meanwhile, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the agreement was developed following a conversation between the Chief Minister and Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran at Davos in January.

He said officials from the Telangana government, HyperVault and TCS moved quickly to develop the partnership and finalise the agreement.

TCS CEO and Managing Director K. Krithivasan said the project advances TCS’ “Infrastructure-to-Intelligence” strategy by combining AI-ready infrastructure with its cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities.

HyperVault CEO and Managing Director Deepesh Kiran Nanda said the campus will focus on higher-density computing, liquid cooling, larger power blocks and faster deployment to meet the requirements of frontier AI companies and hyperscalers.

The phased development is expected to create demand across supporting infrastructure and services as the campus expands.
