CMC Demolishes 82 Illegal Constructions in First Three Days of September

A continued enforcement drive by the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has resulted in 82 demolitions across Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur in the first three days of September. The enforcement drive has also resulted in notices being served and further cases being taken up for action as the civic body steps up field-level inspections across its limits.

On September 1, CMC enforcement teams identified 36 unauthorised constructions through field-level inspections. Of these, 26 buildings were demolished, 10 notices were served and one construction was seized. Serilingampally recorded eight demolitions, Kukatpally seven and Quthbullapur 11.

The enforcement continued on September 2, when teams identified 21 unauthorised constructions for necessary action. A total of 25 demolitions were carried out and four notices were served. Zone-wise, Serilingampally recorded 10 demolitions, Kukatpally seven and Quthbullapur eight.

On September 3, CMC teams identified another 21 unauthorised constructions. Enforcement teams carried out 31 demolitions and served nine notices across the three zones. Serilingampally recorded 12 demolitions, Kukatpally seven and Quthbullapur 12.

The latest action follows the enforcement drive carried out by the CMC in August, with field teams continuing inspections to identify construction activity being carried out without required permissions or in violation of applicable building regulations.

CMC Commissioner G Srijana has directed the Town Planning and enforcement teams to continue field-level inspections, identification and monitoring of unauthorised constructions across all three zones.

She noted that all identified unauthorised constructions would be taken up for demolition, notices or other enforcement measures in accordance with the prescribed procedure and applicable regulations.
