Mumbai’s Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) has issued a notice to NVK Realty LLP over alleged deviations from the approved plan for Palmera, a 22-storey luxury residential tower in Bandra, directing the developer to rectify the violations within one month or face legal action and prosecution.

The notice, issued on October 6, concerns six floors, from the seventh to the 12th, designated for Permanent Transit Camp (PTC) housing. The building plan, approved on September 12, 2023, requires these homes to be handed over to the SRA upon completion.

The authority detected the alleged deviations during an inspection on September 30, following an RTI application filed six months earlier by social activist Santosh Daundkar.

PTC homes accommodate people displaced by infrastructure projects, including road widening, railway works and metro construction. An SRA senior official said Mumbai requires at least two lakh such homes to support people affected by ongoing infrastructure projects.
