MMC Commissioner Inspects Uppal Zone, Reviews Nala, Road and Elevated Corridor Works

Desilting, road repairs, lake restoration and the Uppal Elevated Corridor came under review during field inspections across Uppal Zone, with Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, directing officials to expedite works and address pending civic issues. 

During visits to Devender Nagar and Sri Ramanapuram, the Commissioner inspected desilting and fencing works along the nala from Nagole Metro Station to Amberpet STP, as well as pothole repairs and road patchwork. Officials were directed to complete the nala works on schedule, remove C&D waste to maintain water flow, expedite road repairs and ensure adequate materials are available.

At GSI Road and Saroj Nagar Lake, Vinay Krishna Reddy reviewed road conditions, sanitation and road margins and directed officials to remove encroachments, obstructions and Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs), while developing greenery along suitable road margins. At the lake, he inspected ongoing water hyacinth removal and ordered priority completion, along with regular anti-larval operations, fogging where required and sanitation measures to prevent mosquito breeding and waste accumulation. 

At Uppal X Road, the Commissioner inspected the Uppal Elevated Corridor and reviewed construction progress. Officials were directed to accelerate the project, improve coordination between departments and resolve bottlenecks quickly. Measures were also sought to minimise inconvenience to commuters and motorists during construction.

The Commissioner directed officials to complete nala development, road repairs, lake conservation, greenery, sanitation and infrastructure works within stipulated timelines and maintain quality standards. The elevated corridor is expected to improve traffic flow and connectivity in Uppal.
