Cambridge University and PropEquity Collaborate to Establish India’s First Real Estate School

The Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge, and PropEquity, India’s leading real estate data and analytics firm, have announced a strategic partnership focused on teaching, research, and industry engagement. The collaboration marks a significant step towards the creation of India’s first dedicated Real Estate School.

Under the partnership, P E Analytics Ltd, the parent company of PropEquity, will establish a comprehensive real estate education programme in India, with technical assistance, curriculum design, and academic support from the University of Cambridge’s Department of Land Economy. The initiative aims to broaden educational offerings and build specialised skills for India’s rapidly evolving real estate sector.

The collaboration will also enable cutting-edge research in real estate, including the development of AI-led predictive models. This aligns with PropEquity’s ongoing work on building India’s first AI-powered conversational platform for the real estate industry, with plans for global expansion.

The partnership is being launched as part of the Department of Land Economy’s new strategic initiative, ‘Global Land Economy’, which focuses on international academic and research collaborations with institutions and industry partners worldwide.

The Department of Land Economy brings deep expertise in real estate and urban policy education through its established postgraduate programmes, including the MSt in Real Estate, launched in 2016, and the MSt in Climate, Environmental and Urban Policy, introduced in 2024. The department also has a strong global research reputation, with 67% of its work rated ‘world leading’ in the latest Research Excellence Framework.

Commenting on the collaboration, Professor Shailaja Fennell, Deputy Head of the Department of Land Economy, said,
“We are delighted to partner with PropEquity to broaden educational offerings and develop high-quality skills for India’s real estate sector.”

Samir Jasuja, Founder & CEO, PropEquity, added, “With Cambridge’s academic expertise guiding curriculum design and frameworks, we aim to build India’s most prestigious Real Estate School and Centre of Excellence. The programmes will be highly specialised, industry-backed, and designed to cover every core vertical of the real estate ecosystem.”

Further details of the partnership and programme offerings will be announced in due course.
