The Telangana government has cleared a key hurdle for the proposed Musi bridge and service road project near the Outer Ring Road (ORR), issuing special exemptions to expedite land acquisition and pave the way for faster execution. The project, being implemented by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), involves the construction of a major bridge across the Musi River and the development of a new service road connecting ORR Exit No. 18A with the Narsingi Ring Road. To accelerate the acquisition process, the government has issued a Gazette Notification granting exemptions from certain provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. Officials believe the move will help avoid procedural delays and enable quicker implementation of the project.

Land required for the project is located in Manchirevula village of Gandipet Mandal in Ranga Reddy district. The proposed bridge is expected to strengthen connectivity between Narsingi, Kokapet, Manchirevula, the Financial District and other fast-growing areas along Hyderabad's western corridor. The project is also intended to address recurring traffic bottlenecks and improve movement around the ORR interchange. Once completed, the bridge and connecting service roads are expected to provide an additional crossing over the Musi River, improve access to the Financial District and Gachibowli, and reduce travel time for commuters using the ORR corridor. The project forms part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure in Hyderabad's western growth belt, where rapid residential and commercial development has led to rising traffic volumes. With the latest government order, the focus is now expected to shift towards land acquisition and project execution.
