MMC Removes 166 Encroachments, Steps Up Action on Illegal Constructions
The civic body intensifies enforcement across Malkajgiri, targeting unauthorised floors, sheds, walls, ramps and other encroachments on public spaces.
Roads, drains, footpaths across Malkajgiri are seeing intensified enforcement as the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) steps up action against unauthorised constructions and encroachments.
Acting on the directions of MMC Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, officials carried out inspections across the Malkajgiri, Uppal and LB Nagar zones. The action covered unauthorised floors, sheds, gates, compound walls, projections and ramps affecting public spaces.
In the Malkajgiri zone, officials took action against an unauthorised third floor at Plot No. J-14, House No. 10-4-131 in Fathenagar, Bowenpally. A total of 51 encroachments were removed between Sainikpuri X Road and Nirmal Nagar X Road in Moula Ali.
In the Uppal zone, action was taken against unauthorised third and fourth floors in Yamnampet, Ghatkesar. An unauthorised shed on the Rampally-Cherlapally road and a compound wall constructed from the road at Rampally X Roads were removed. Action was also taken against unauthorised fourth and fifth floors in Yamnampet near Srinidhi College.
In Kapra, 31 encroachments were removed along the Sainikpuri X Road-Nirmal Nagar X Road stretch. Unauthorised gates built on a public road at Western Bliss in Vampuguda were removed, while action was also taken against an unauthorised construction in Annapurna Nagar Colony, Nacharam.
Officials removed 15 unauthorised sheds and huts between Nagole Metro Station and Nala Cheruvu. An unauthorised third floor at House No. 1-22/1/24 in Kakatiya Nagar Colony, Chengicherla, was also removed.
At Kuntloor village near Kuntloor Junction, unauthorised third-floor pillars at Survey Nos. 160-162 were removed. Similar action was taken against Survey Nos. 64/1, 64/2 and 64/3 along the Peddamberpet-Pasumamula road.
In the LB Nagar zone, an encroachment removal drive on the road from Bashyam School towards the rear of Dilsukhnagar Depot removed 20 projections, 10 temporary sheds and five stalls.
As part of the proposed 200-foot road widening between Beeramguda Junction and Oys Junction in LB Nagar, 191.97 square yards of land for road widening was handed over to the MMC Commissioner.
In Hayathnagar, officials removed 34 encroachments, including 12 ramps and 22 sheds, from Bhagyalatha Kaman to St Joseph School in Kalvancha.
The Commissioner directed officials to maintain continuous surveillance in areas cleared during the drives to prevent fresh encroachments. Town Planning, Engineering, Revenue and other departments were asked to coordinate to protect roads, drains, government land and public-use spaces.
