SH-01 Corridor Works Reviewed from Paradise to Shamirpet

A key 18.18-km road corridor linking Paradise Junction with the ORR at Shamirpet is moving ahead, with land acquisition, utility shifting and road works under review to keep the project on schedule. Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, along with senior HMDA officials, inspected the works and reviewed the progress on the ground. 

The review covered removal and handing over of existing structures, construction of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) compound wall, development of MoD properties, utility shifting, earthwork and ongoing road works.

Of the 18.18-km corridor, 11.658 km will be elevated, while the remaining stretch will be built at grade. The project will also include ramps at Karkhana, Tirumalgiri and Alwal, a tunnel-cum-vehicular subway near Hakimpet Airport Station, and grade separations at Lothkunta and Alwal.

The Chief Secretary directed the implementing agency to maintain quality and safety standards, coordinate with all concerned departments and adhere to the approved project schedule.

Land acquisition for private properties is also being expedited in Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. Officials have been directed to speed up the acquisition process and complete the handing over of government and religious structures at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Jaju said SH-01 is a key infrastructure project for Telangana and directed all departments and agencies to work together to resolve field-level issues and complete the corridor within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards.

Timely coordination among the departments involved will be critical to resolving remaining field-level issues and keeping the project on schedule. Once completed, the corridor is expected to improve connectivity between northern Hyderabad and the ORR.
