Mumbai Property Registrations Hit All-Time High
Mumbai property registrations hit an all-time high in 2025, says Knight Frank, signaling strong momentum in Indian markets including Hyderabad real estate.
Property registrations in Mumbai have reached an all-time high. In the first 11 months of this year, over 1,35,800 registrations were recorded, contributing ₹12,224 crore in revenue to the state treasury. In November alone, 12,219 registrations were recorded—a 20% increase year-on-year. Stamp duty collections rose 12% to ₹1,038 crore, according to Knight Frank’s latest report.
Monthly-wise, registrations grew by 5% in November.
Residential units accounted for 80% of all registrations.
In the January–November 2025 period:

Year-on-year, registrations grew by 5% and revenue by 11%.
Homes priced above ₹5 crore accounted for 7% of all November registrations (up from 5% last year). Homes priced below ₹1 crore saw reduced share, while ₹1–2 crore homes increased from 31% (2024) to 33% (2025).
Properties up to 1,000 sq.ft accounted for 84%,
1,000–2,000 sq.ft for 12%,
and units above 2,000 sq.ft for 4%.
Knight Frank India Chairman & MD Shishir Baijal noted that Mumbai’s residential market has shown strong performance, recording 20% YoY growth this November—the best November since 2013.
