MMC Commissioner Orders Junction Upgrades, Encroachment Removal in Alwal

Junction development, road conditions, sanitation and encroachments came under focus during a field inspection conducted by Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy in Alwal Circle.

The Commissioner, along with municipal officials, inspected key locations including the T-junction near TIMS, Rajiv Gandhi Statue Junction and the T-junction in AWHO Colony. The inspection covered the existing sanitation conditions, proposed junction development works, road conditions and encroachments affecting traffic movement.

Vinay Krishna Reddy directed the concerned officials to take up the proposed junction development works immediately and complete them within the stipulated time. He also instructed officials to use the available road space efficiently at the junctions to minimise inconvenience to motorists and ensure smoother traffic movement.

The HT Line RDP proposal was also reviewed during the inspection. The concerned Assistant City Planner (Town Planning) officials were directed to take the necessary steps to place the proposal before the Standing Committee for approval.

Garbage collection and sanitation management were also reviewed across Alwal Circle. Ramky sanitation staff were instructed to remove waste every day from all garbage collection points and secondary garbage collection points without delay.

The Commissioner also directed officials to ensure daily door-to-door garbage collection from every household and maintain continuous field-level monitoring of sanitation standards. The directions come as sanitation and waste management remain key factors in maintaining the quality of residential neighbourhoods.

Encroachments affecting traffic movement on major junctions and roads were another area of focus. The concerned ACP was directed to identify such encroachments and take immediate action for their removal as per the rules. Officials were also asked to give special attention to keeping roads clear of obstructions.

The proposed junction improvements, road-clearance measures and sanitation monitoring are expected to address some of the day-to-day civic issues faced by residents in the Alwal Circle. For residential neighbourhoods, road accessibility, traffic movement, cleanliness and the availability of usable public space are important aspects of overall liveability and local connectivity.

The Commissioner directed all concerned departments to work in coordination and take up the required measures in a timely and responsible manner to improve sanitation, road conditions, junction infrastructure and overall civic amenities across Alwal Circle.

Deputy Commissioner Bhogeshwar, DEE (Maintenance), ACP, DEE (SWM), DPO, officials from the Alwal Circle Horticulture Department and other concerned staff were present during the inspection.
