PROPERTY PLUSE

The Telangana Government has reportedly given in-principle approval to expand the ambitious Bharat Future City project by bringing 37 additional villages under its jurisdiction. The proposed expansion is aimed at accelerating the development of Hyderabad's fourth urban centre and comes after considering representations from local farmers and public representatives.

Mega Project Across Seven Mandals

The Future City project is being developed over nearly 30,000 acres between the Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar National Highways. To oversee the development, the government has established the Future City Development Authority (FCDA). At present, the FCDA covers 56 revenue villages spread across seven mandals in Ranga Reddy district—Maheshwaram, Kandukur, Kadthal, Amangal, Ibrahimpatnam, Manchal and Yacharam.

According to sources, the government now plans to include 28 villages from Maheshwaram mandal and 9 villages from Kandukur mandal, taking the total number of villages under the FCDA to 93. Officials believe the expansion will significantly enhance the project's development potential and planning scope.

A New Growth Engine for Hyderabad

The government envisions Future City as a world-class economic, technology and industrial hub, equipped with modern infrastructure, employment opportunities and sustainable urban planning. The proposed expansion is expected to strengthen investor confidence and position the region as a key driver of Hyderabad's long-term growth.

The inclusion of additional villages is also expected to accelerate urbanisation, creating new opportunities for local farmers, landowners and the real estate sector. Industry observers believe the expanded Future City will emerge as one of Telangana's most significant growth corridors over the coming decade.
