CMC Reclaims Public Spaces by Clearing 313 Encroachments Across 17.95 km

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has intensified its efforts to reclaim public spaces, removing 313 encroachments across 15 identified stretches covering 17.95 km under its weekly 'Walk Free' initiative. The drive aims to restore roads and footpaths, improve pedestrian mobility and keep public spaces free of obstructions.

Of the total, 154 encroachments were cleared across 6.85 km in the Quthbullapur Zone, followed by 106 encroachments along 8.5 km in the Serilingampally Zone and 53 encroachments over 2.6 km in the Kukatpally Zone. Among the individual circles, Nizampet recorded the highest number of removals with 42 encroachments, followed by Narsingi with 30 and Jeedimetla with 27.

Meanwhile, CMC Commissioner G. Srijana said enforcement teams will continue monitoring the cleared stretches to prevent re-encroachment and ensure reclaimed roads, footpaths and public spaces remain free of obstructions. She said the 'Walk Free' initiative will continue as a regular enforcement drive across the Corporation to improve pedestrian accessibility and preserve public spaces.

With the weekly drive continuing across its jurisdiction, CMC aims to keep roads and footpaths free of encroachments, improving walkability and supporting better urban infrastructure across the city.
