CMC Joins Hands with T-Works to Develop Tech Solutions for Urban Challenges

From pothole repairs and public sanitation to mosquito control and firefighting in high-rise buildings, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) is looking at technology and rapid prototyping to address some of the city’s everyday civic challenges.

CMC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with T-Works to collaborate on innovation, prototyping and technology-driven solutions for municipal and urban requirements.

The initiative was discussed during CMC Commissioner G. Srijana’s visit to T-Works, where she reviewed innovative projects, prototypes and startup initiatives aimed at addressing urban and municipal challenges. The visit was attended by three Zonal Commissioners, the Additional Commissioner (Health & Sanitation), the Chief Engineer and other senior CMC officials.

Among the areas identified for potential solutions are innovative street furniture, user-friendly public urinals, pothole repair and road maintenance, mosquito and vector control, sanitation and other field-level municipal requirements.

Officials also reviewed solutions related to water hyacinth management, high-rise firefighting, recyclable materials and liquid waste treatment. The discussions focused on how such technologies could be adapted to address specific requirements in Cyberabad.

Under the collaboration, civic challenges will be identified and taken through a prototype-based process, with solutions developed and tested under real field conditions before being considered for wider deployment.

The partnership is expected to give CMC a platform to work with innovators and technology developers on practical solutions that can improve municipal service delivery and field-level operations, while allowing successful prototypes to be scaled up for wider urban use.
