CMC Clears 420 Footpath Encroachments Across 16.7 Km in Weekly Walk Free Drive

With an aim to improve pedestrian access and keep public spaces free from obstructions, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) carried out its weekly Walk Free initiative across all three zones, removing 420 encroachments from footpaths and public spaces along 16.7 km covering 15 circles and 16 stretches.

The Quthbullapur Zone recorded the highest number of removals, with 197 encroachments cleared across seven circles and eight stretches covering 8.2 km. The drive was conducted in Chintal, Jeedimetla, Kompally, Gajularamaram, Nizampet, Dundigal and Medchal.

In the Kukatpally Zone, 67 encroachments were removed across three circles and three stretches spanning 1.5 km. The drive covered Madhapur, Allwyn Colony and Kukatpally.

The Serilingampally Zone accounted for 156 removals across five circles and five stretches covering 7 km. Operations were carried out in Narsingi, Patancheru, Ameenpur, Miyapur and Serilingampally.

The weekly Walk Free initiative aims to keep footpaths clear of encroachments, improve pedestrian accessibility and support safer movement across Cyberabad.

CMC Commissioner G Srijana appealed to shop owners, street vendors, commercial establishments and the public to avoid encroaching on footpaths and public spaces and cooperate with the civic body in maintaining safe and accessible pedestrian infrastructure across the city.
