Roadside Obstructions Targeted, CMC Removes 238 Encroachments from 14.4 Km Stretch

Encroachments affecting pedestrian movement and access along key road stretches in Cyberabad have come under a fresh enforcement drive, with the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) removing 238 encroachments across 14.4 km during its weekly Walk-Free Drive.

The drive covered identified road stretches across all three CMC Zones, with field teams focusing on clearing public spaces and improving access for pedestrians and other road users. The Quthbullapur Zone recorded the highest number of removals at 93, followed by Serilingampally with 87 and Kukatpally with 58.

In the Serilingampally Zone, CMC teams removed 87 encroachments across five Circles. Patancheru recorded 21 removals, followed by Ameenpur with 20, Serilingampally with 25, Miyapur with 15 and Narsingi with 6.

The Kukatpally Zone recorded 58 removals. Madhapur accounted for 21, while Moosapet recorded 15, Kukatpally 13 and Allwyn Colony 9.

Quthbullapur Zone accounted for 93 removals, with Gajularamaram recording the highest number at 18. Medchal followed with 17, while Chintal and Nizampet recorded 13 each, Jeedimetla 12, Dundigal 12 and Kompally 8.

CMC Commissioner G Srijana has directed field teams to continue enforcement across identified stretches and ensure that cleared areas remain accessible to pedestrians and other road users.

She said follow-up inspections will be conducted on the cleared stretches to check for fresh encroachments and prevent their recurrence. Further action will be taken against identified violations as per the prescribed procedure.
