CMC Studies Advanced Waste Processing Systems to Strengthen Cyberabad’s Waste Management Infra

From construction debris and e-waste to energy recovery, CMC is studying integrated waste solutions to build a more efficient and sustainable urban waste management system.

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) is studying modern waste processing technologies and operational models to strengthen the city’s waste management infrastructure and improve resource recovery.

CMC Commissioner G Srijana visited waste processing facilities at Jeedimetla and Dundigal to study scientific waste management practices, processing systems and technologies that could be adopted to meet Cyberabad’s future waste management needs.

At Jeedimetla, Srijana inspected the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Processing Plant and reviewed the collection, segregation, recycling and processing of construction waste. She also examined the plant’s operations and the reuse of processed materials.

She later visited the Integrated Waste Processing Complex at Dundigal, inspecting the Waste-to-Energy Plant, Hazardous Waste Management Facility and E-Waste Recycling Unit. The review covered waste processing systems, pollution control measures, resource recovery and energy generation processes.

Discussions with officials and technical experts focused on the facilities’ existing processing capacity, operations, infrastructure requirements, future expansion and the adoption of suitable technologies based on Cyberabad’s waste management needs.

Srijana also reviewed smart waste management systems, digital monitoring, automation and resource recovery models being implemented at the facilities and examined their potential to strengthen waste management services in Cyberabad.

“Scientific waste management requires continuous improvement in infrastructure, technology and operational practices. Such study visits provide an opportunity to understand existing systems and identify suitable approaches that can be adopted based on the requirements of Cyberabad,” the Commissioner said.

Officials, technical experts and facility representatives briefed her on waste processing methods, recycling systems, energy generation, safety measures and future expansion plans.
