CMC Reviews RWA Civic Concerns in Hitech City, Kokapet Under 'One Ward Every Day' Initiative

Drinking water supply, underground drainage, roads, stormwater drains, streetlights, traffic management and civic infrastructure topped the agenda as the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) reviewed public grievances in Hitech City and Kokapet wards under its One Ward Every Day initiative. 

CMC Commissioner G Srijana, along with the local MLA, zonal commissioners, deputy commissioners and heads of departments, visited Masthan Nagar Slum in Hitech City Ward to inspect civic infrastructure and interact with residents. The discussions focused on repairing old borewells and electrical connections, restoring non-functional streetlights, improving drinking water supply affected by low HMWSSB pressure, rectifying underground drainage leakages and sewage mixing with drinking water pipelines, and constructing a community hall on available government land. 

In Kokapet Ward, the Commissioner, accompanied by the Serilingampally Zonal Commissioner, Narsingi Deputy Commissioner and officials from various departments, held an interactive meeting with Resident Welfare Association (RWA) representatives and residents to review civic infrastructure and local development requirements. 

Residents raised concerns over roads and stormwater drains, waterlogging, drinking water supply, sanitation, door-to-door waste collection, mosquito control, streetlights, traffic congestion, parking, wrong-side driving, street dog management, scientific disposal of construction and demolition (C&D) waste, property tax and mutation-related issues, and road connectivity in the Kokapet-Neopolis area. 

The Commissioner directed the concerned departments to inspect the issues on priority, coordinate with the respective agencies and ensure their early resolution. Officials were also instructed to closely monitor the progress of the identified works and complete them in a time-bound manner. 

The One Ward Every Day initiative is aimed at providing a platform for residents to directly raise civic concerns with municipal officials, enabling on-ground assessment and coordinated follow-up by the concerned departments.
