CMC Clears 506 Footpath Encroachments Across 30.29 km in City-Wide Drive

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation has launched a city-wide drive to remove encroachments from public footpaths, covering 15 road stretches across three zones to improve pedestrian safety and ensure obstruction-free movement. The exercise is being carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioners, with the Town Planning Wing coordinating with the Police Department.

The drive targeted unauthorized occupations of footpaths by food stalls, street vendors, temporary structures and other obstructions that hinder pedestrian movement.

The largest operation was carried out in the Quthbullapur Zone, where officials cleared 204 encroachments along seven road stretches spanning 15.53 km. The works covered key corridors in Chintal, Jeedimetla, Kompally, Gajularamaram, Nizampet, Dundigal and Medchal.

In the Serilingampally Zone, the corporation removed 197 encroachments across five road stretches covering 10.8 km. The drive was undertaken on major roads in Narsingi, Patancheru, Ameenpur, Miyapur and Serilingampally.

The Kukatpally Zone recorded the removal of 105 encroachments along three road stretches covering 3.16 km, including roads in Madhapur, Allwyn Colony and Kukatpally.

Overall, the civic body cleared 506 encroachments from 30.29 km of footpaths across 15 road stretches as part of the initiative.

Commissioner G. Srijana directed officials to continue the drive in a phased manner across other identified locations, with regular monitoring and strict enforcement to prevent recurring encroachments. She said the initiative is aimed at creating safer, cleaner and more pedestrian-friendly public spaces across Cyberabad.
