MMC Orders Faster Clearance of Building Permission, OC and LRS Files

Applicants waiting for building permissions, occupancy certificates and layout regularisation approvals in Malkajgiri can expect faster processing, as the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) has directed Town Planning officials to clear pending files quickly and inform applicants of all deficiencies in their applications at one time.

MMC Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, reviewed the pending applications with Town Planning officials at the MMC headquarters and examined building permission and occupancy certificate files pending with Assistant City Planners (ACPs) across different zones.

The review also covered applications pending in the logins of the Chief City Planner (CCP) and Additional CCPs. The Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over files being kept pending for long periods and instructed officials to examine applications within the prescribed timelines and move them to the next level without delay.

A key direction was issued on shortfalls in applications. Officials were told to communicate all deficiencies found during scrutiny to applicants at one time instead of raising fresh issues at different stages.

This is expected to reduce repeated visits to municipal offices and give applicants a clear list of corrections required in their applications. Officials were also asked to maintain transparency and ensure time-bound processing of files.

The Commissioner also reviewed the status of Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications and directed officials to give greater attention to pending cases. Applicants who have been informed about fee payments should be facilitated to pay the required charges as per the rules.

Applications where the required fees have already been paid should be taken up for the next stage without delay, officials were told. They were also directed to regularly review pending LRS files and speed up the process wherever required.

Vinay Krishna Reddy instructed Town Planning officials to ensure that services related to building permissions, occupancy certificates and LRS applications are handled in a speedy, transparent and rule-compliant manner. Officials were asked to continuously monitor pending files and avoid unnecessary delays in their disposal.

Chief City Planner Pradeep Kumar, Additional Chief City Planner Ranjith Kumar, LAO Saritha and ACPs Naresh, Bhagyalakshmi and Ram Reddy, among others, attended the review meeting.
