CII Energy Efficiency Summit to Focus on Green Buildings, Clean Tech from Sept 16 to 18

Energy efficiency and low-carbon technologies are set to take centre stage in Hyderabad as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) brings together industry leaders, policymakers and technology providers for its 25th Energy Efficiency Summit from September 16 to 18 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).

The three-day summit, organised by the CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre (CII-GBC), is expected to draw more than 3,500 delegates and 150 speakers from India and abroad. The discussions will cover energy efficiency, clean technologies and sustainable practices across more than 20 industry sectors, with implications for sectors such as real estate, infrastructure and construction.

With buildings and infrastructure facing growing pressure to reduce energy consumption and emissions, the summit will focus on technologies and practices that can support the transition towards a low-carbon economy. The theme for this year's edition is “Accelerating the transition to a Net Zero economy through energy efficiency, clean technologies, and sustainable practices.”

The summit will also host three sector-focused conferences: the 22nd CII Power Plant Summit, the 20th edition of CII PaperTech and the inaugural CII-GEC Cleantech Nexus. The sessions will examine developments in thermal power, pulp and paper, and cleantech startups, respectively.

For the real estate and construction sectors, the discussions on energy-efficient systems and low-carbon technologies are relevant as developers and building owners look to cut operating costs, reduce energy use and improve the environmental performance of their projects. 

Another key feature will be the 27th CII National Award for Excellence in Energy Management, which will recognise more than 300 companies and individuals for their efforts in adopting sustainable energy practices.

The summit will also have more than 110 exhibitors showcasing energy-efficient technologies and solutions, including a dedicated pavilion for low-carbon technology innovations.

Through the event, CII-GBC aims to bring industry, government, academia and technology providers onto a common platform to discuss practical approaches to improving energy efficiency and supporting India's transition towards net zero.
