CMC clears 506 footpath encroachments
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has removed 506 encroachments from public footpaths across 15 road stretches covering 30.29 km as part of a city-wide initiative to improve pedestrian safety and keep walkways obstruction-free.

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has launched a city-wide drive to clear encroachments from public footpaths, removing 506 obstructions across 15 road stretches covering 30.29 km. The initiative aims to improve pedestrian safety and ensure unobstructed movement along key roads.The drive, carried out under the supervision of deputy commissioners, is being coordinated by the town planning wing in association with the Police department. Officials targeted unauthorised occupation of footpaths by food stalls, street vendors, temporary structures and other obstructions affecting pedestrian access.The Quthbullapur Zone recorded the highest number of removals, with 204 encroachments cleared along seven road stretches spanning 15.53 km.
The operation covered major roads in Chintal, Jeedimetla, Kompally, Gajularamaram, Nizampet, Dundigal and Medchal.In the Serilingampally Zone, officials removed 197 encroachments across five road stretches covering 10.8 km, including roads in Narsingi, Patancheru, Ameenpur, Miyapur and Serilingampally.The Kukatpally Zone accounted for 105 encroachments removed from three road stretches covering 3.96 km, including stretches in Madhapur, Allwyn Colony and Kukatpally.CMC Commissioner G. Srijana directed officials to continue the drive in phases across other identified locations, with regular monitoring to prevent fresh encroachments. The civic body said the initiative is intended to create safer, cleaner and more pedestrian-friendly public spaces across the Cyberabad region.
