MMC Engages Property Owners to Fast-Track Uppal Grade Separator Project

The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) has begun consultations with property owners affected by the proposed Uppal Grade Separator project (Ramanthapur–Uppal Flyover) to expedite the project, which is expected to ease congestion at Uppal Junction and improve connectivity in Hyderabad's eastern corridor.

A meeting chaired by MMC Commissioner Vinay Krishna Reddy was attended by Uppal Zonal Commissioner Radhika Gupta, Additional Commissioner (Sanitation) C.N. Raghu Prasad, Chief City Planner Pradeep Kumar, Town Planning and Engineering officials, and project-affected property owners.

During the meeting, the Commissioner heard the concerns and objections raised by property owners regarding land acquisition, compensation and rehabilitation. He assured them that the process would be carried out with complete transparency and in accordance with government rules and legal procedures.

The Commissioner also informed the property owners that compensation would be provided in the form of Transferable Development Rights (TDR).

Explaining the significance of the project, Vinay Krishna Reddy said the Uppal Grade Separator would substantially reduce traffic congestion at Uppal Junction, one of the busiest intersections in the city, while improving connectivity and traffic movement to the eastern parts of Hyderabad.

He said the project is expected to enhance traffic flow along the corridor connecting Ramanthapur and Uppal, benefiting daily commuters and supporting the area's growing urban infrastructure.

Appealing to the affected property owners, the Commissioner sought their cooperation to ensure the timely completion of the public infrastructure project. He stressed that every stage of the project would be implemented with transparency, fairness and coordination, keeping the larger public interest in view.
