Revanth Reddy Announces Metro Expansion, 3-Km Cable Bridge in Hyderabad

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Chanchalguda–Santosh Nagar steel flyover and announced a series of infrastructure and connectivity projects aimed at accelerating Hyderabad’s development. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Revanth Reddy said the previous government had only laid the foundation stone for the flyover but did not spend any money on its construction. The present government, he said, provided the required funds and completed the project. 

I have said this before — this is not the Old City, it is the Original City, the Chief Minister said.

Revanth Reddy also announced plans to construct a 3-km cable bridge across Mir Alam Tank. He said people currently have to travel to Durgam Cheruvu to see a cable bridge and that the new project would bring similar infrastructure to the southern part of Hyderabad. The Chief Minister said the government plans to complete the Metro rail extension from Gowlipura to Chandrayangutta before the next elections. “We will come by Metro and ask you for votes in the next elections,” he said.

He also announced plans to extend the Metro network from Nagole through LB Nagar, Chandrayangutta and Rajendranagar to Shamshabad, further strengthening connectivity across southern Hyderabad. On the Musi Riverfront Development, Revanth Reddy said the government would develop the Musi and promote a night economy along the riverfront. The initiative, he said, would also aim to create employment opportunities for poor Muslim families living in the area.

The Chief Minister alleged that BJP and BRS leaders were trying to obstruct the government’s development initiatives. He said political differences should be limited to election periods and that development should remain the priority after elections. “Let us all work together to develop Hyderabad,” Revanth Reddy said.
