Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said Future City would be developed as a pollution-free, environmentally sustainable urban centre with a focus on technology, healthcare, research and global investments.

Speaking after inaugurating the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) headquarters at Meerkhanpet, the chief minister described the project as Telangana's ambitious urban development initiatives and said the government is committed to creating world-class infrastructure and a globally competitive business ecosystem.

Revanth Reddy remarked that land in Rangareddy district is ‘more valuable than gold’, citing the region's long-term growth potential and strategic importance in Hyderabad's future expansion.

He said the government had completed the FCDA headquarters and operationalised the authority's development office within a short period, calling it an important milestone in the rollout of the Future City project.

The chief minister said the government aims to attract green pharma companies, global capability centres (GCCs), IT firms and corporations to Future City. To promote the project internationally and attract investments, the government is also planning another global investment summit.

According to the government, Future City is being planned as a urban centre with a emphasis on sustainability, economic growth and employment generation. The project is expected to emerge as a major growth corridor in South Hyderabad.

On the occasion, Revanth Reddy handed over the Letter of Award (LoA) to representatives of the consultancy firm selected to prepare the master plan for the Future City region.

The comprehensive master plan will guide land use, infrastructure development, transportation networks, economic zones and urban growth across the proposed Future City area.

The inauguration of the FCDA headquarters and the appointment of the master plan consultant mark two key milestones in the implementation of the flagship project, expected to shape Hyderabad's next phase of expansion.
