CMC Commissioner Reviews ₹679-Crore Grade Separators at IIIT, Directs Officials to Maintain Pace, Quality & Safety

Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G Srijana reviewed the progress of two major grade separator projects at IIIT Junction and Khajaguda Junction, with a combined estimated cost of Rs 679 crore, as construction advances on infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity across Hyderabad’s western growth corridor.

At IIIT Junction, the Commissioner reviewed the Rs 459-crore Multi-Level Grade Separator Project, being developed at one of the busiest intersections connecting Gachibowli, Lingampally, Wipro Junction and Kondapur Road.

The project comprises four grade-separated corridors with a total length of 3.39 km. These include a 4-lane bi-directional flyover from ISB Road to DLF Road measuring 720 metres, a 3-lane uni-directional flyover from DLF Road to Lingampally measuring 948 metres, a 3-lane uni-directional flyover from ISB Road to Gachibowli extending 1.20 km, and a 6-lane bi-directional underpass from Gachibowli to Lingampally measuring 520 metres.

During the review, the Commissioner took stock of the ongoing foundation works, pier construction, pier cap works and PSC girder casting being carried out simultaneously across the four corridors. The project is targeted for completion by May 2027.

Once completed, the grade separator is expected to improve movement between Gachibowli, Lingampally, Kondapur Road, Wipro Junction, the Financial District and the Outer Ring Road, reducing delays at the junction and strengthening access to key residential, commercial and employment hubs.

At Khajaguda Junction, the Commissioner reviewed the Rs 220-crore Flyover and Underpass Project, aimed at improving connectivity between Mehdipatnam, Shaikpet, Nanakramguda and Gachibowli.

The 1.625-km project includes a 3-lane uni-directional flyover from Nanakramguda to Shaikpet measuring 1,085 metres and a 3-lane uni-directional underpass from Shaikpet to Gachibowli measuring 540 metres. Foundation, pier and pier cap works are currently in progress, with completion targeted for April 2027.

The Commissioner directed engineering officials to maintain the pace of construction while adhering to quality and safety standards and ensuring that both projects are completed within their stipulated timelines.

The two projects are expected to improve traffic flow across major routes linking Hyderabad’s western employment and residential zones, while strengthening road connectivity around key real estate and commercial growth areas.
